Blue Hawaii share new track, 'Do You Need Me'
Montreal electro pop duo Blue Hawaii have shared a new track, 'Do You Need Me.'
After a break from production for four years, Raphaelle ‘Ra’ Standell and Alexander ‘Agor’ Kerby have returned with 'Do You Need Me,' a calming stream of electrical beeps and synthesizers. Complemented by both orchestral strings and Standell’s echoing vocals, the single is a successful combination of emotive songwriting, passionate vocals and intelligent musical craftsmanship.
'Do You Need Me' is taken from the pair's third album, 'Tenderness.' The upcoming release features a collaboration with former Arcade Fire touring member Owen Pallet.
Speaking about the song, Standell explained: "This is my favourite track on the record. It's not exactly a single, you can't really dance to it or put it on at a party, but it's beautiful and emotional and that's the kind of stuff I love making the most. Owen Pallet composed, played and recorded all of the strings on this track. He's truly a genius and was amazing to collaborate with. Take a moment for yourself and have a listen on headphones or on some nice speakers.
The record has many of these moments - intimate and nostalgic. It feels so good to be coming out with music for Blue Hawaii after 4 years! We're so excited for this record and can't wait to get on the road and bring this bébé to life!"
Blue Hawaii will tour the UK and Ireland in November.
'Tenderness' is released on 6th October via Arbutus Records.
