Animal Collective share new EP 'Meeting of the Waters'

Experimental pop band Animal Collective has announced the release of a limited edition EP on 12’’ vinyl to celebrate Record Store Day. Entitled Meeting of the Waters the four-track EP will be available to purchase in record stores on 22nd April 2017.

Recorded outside Manaus, Brazil early last year, Meeting of the Waters is comprised of original tracks and field recordings captured live in the Amazon rainforest. Performances from band members Geologist and Avey Tare also feature. The EP follows on from Animal Collective’s earlier four-track release, ‘The Painters EP;’ a companion to their 2016 album, ‘Painting With.’

‘Man of Oil,’ an early track from ‘Meeting of the Waters,’ will be unveiled on 21st April in anticipation of Record Store Day.

A portion of the proceeds from each sale of the vinyl will benefit Idesam, a non-profit organisation working towards the conservation and sustainable development of the Amazon rainforest.

Excerpts of tracks from ‘Meeting of the Waters’ will also feature on the upcoming Viceland series, ‘Earth Works,’ scheduled to be broadcast in June.

‘Meeting of the Waters’ is released in record stores on 22nd April via Domino.
