Shame share new single 'Tasteless'
South London five piece Shame have unveiled the video for their latest punk-rock anthem, Tasteless.
The snarling, heavy, riff-driven track further showcases the band as a force to be reckoned with in the current British rock scene. Set in a mysterious backroom establishment, the video sees the band starting fires as a well dressed gentleman looks on. The riotous video was directed by Shame frontman Charlie Steen alongside frequent Fat White Family collaborator Lou Smith.
Steen said of his directorial turn: “There always seems to be comfort in the collapsed, the constant pursuit for oblivion. What we portray is the detachment from what we have created ourselves, the willingness to destroy and demean it through stabbing, spray painting and eventually burning. All for one man's slight amusement. It is a comment on removing oneself from thought and reasoning and accepting how nothing is truly permanent, nothing is completely original and only by understanding this can progression be made. The only boundary being reality itself, something many tend to avoid.”
Shame have long attracted attention thanks to their provocative and thrilling live shows. They are currently embarking on a large UK tour before playing a select run of festival dates.
