Reptaliens share video for single 'Olive Boy'
Portland-based dream pop band Reptaliens has shared a music video for new track ‘Olive Boy.’
The song is one of two to be featured on new single ‘Prequel / Olive Boy’ - each offering a slice of daze-filled dreamscape pop. Directed by drummer Tyler Vergian, the video shows a serial killer controlled by a frenzied urge to kill as he digs up his back garden.
Husband and wife team Bambi and Cole Browning met on the set of a music video for a mutual friend’s band that didn’t exist. Married after six months of dating, the couple began Reptaliens as a bedroom-recording project that has now evolved into a live act that thrills audiences with theatrical performances.
The band, the latest to join the coveted roster on independent label Captured Tracks, has sought inspiration from their interests in cult mentality, conspiracy theories, and science-fiction to create their surrealist sound.
Reptaliens said of their latest video: “Doug Russell plays the olive boy and was cast as soon as the video concept was created. We all laughed about how he was the first and obvious choice for the part because he looks like a serial killer, but he's actually one of the sweetest and kindest humans we know- and he conveniently had a super creepy trap door on his back deck.”
‘Prequel / Olive Boy’ is available now via Captured Tracks.
