The Districts cover 'Lover Lover Lover' by Leonard Cohen

To accompany the release of their new 7” single, ‘Ordinary Day’, Philly rockers The Districts have covered Leonard Cohen’s 1974 song ‘Lover Lover Lover’. The track will feature as a B-side to the single, to be released on Record Store Day.

Reimagining the emotional song from the original album ‘New Skin for the Old Ceremony’, The Districts give it an indie regeneration. Replacing the folksy-pop with dynamic guitar and impassioned vocals. The track grows in momentum to finish in a finale of commanding rhythm and a swell of instrumental sound, all fighting against frontman Rob Grote’s shredding voice.

Following the widespread praise received on ‘Ordinary Day’, The Districts have been performing it live on their recent tour around SXSW. The song is an exciting taster of what we can expect from the band’s new album coming out later this summer.
