Froth share video for new single 'Petals'

American shoe-gaze band Froth have shared a new video for their latest single, Petals which is taken from their recently released album, Outside (briefly).

The video for the melancholic and dreamy track was created in collaboration with animator and director, Cloaking. The resulting visuals play out like a three-dimensional tour of an intergalactic environment; with landscapes and textures seemingly growing and expanding to reflect the instrumental rhythms within the song.

Cloaking said of the video: “Inspired by the wide open sounds of the new record, we decided to work on a longer narrative piece. It’s an exploration of longing and space, the everyday transferred to the celestial. Taking the feeling of skipping the party to stare at your ceiling and applying it to the infinity that surrounds us. Its origins came via creating some very simple 3d models, applying layers of noise to create displacement fields. The randomness in noise when applied in layers soon creates textures that are reminiscent of the ones we see in nature. The idea was to maintain a sense of our minds playing with the elements. How we imagine the cosmos, not how they actually appear.”

Froth have spent the majority of 2017 on tour in support of their third album, with a handful of UK live dates scheduled for June.
