The Horrors announce new album V
The Horrors have announced the release of 'V', their first album in three years.
Due for release via Wolftone/Caroline on 22 September, the album is produced by Paul Epworth (fka twigs, Rihanna). If single 'Machine' offers any indication, we can expect the band's signature slew of timeless vintage sounds and fearless experimentation.
However, added to the mix is a heavy industrial sound, showing they are worlds away from their shoegaze roots.
Lead singer Faris Badwan explained the spontaneity of their new work, saying: "Life isn’t much fun without risk. It’s the antithesis of being creative if you know what you’re going to be doing every time.”
This mindset is continued by keyboardist Tom Cowan: "Bowie pre-empted the modern condition of not being able to stay in one place for very long, and I get frustrated with bands who stay still. Because then it does become a career.”
The band have also chosen the surrealist art of Erik Ferguson for the album cover.
