Ariel Pink releases new track Time To Live
Ariel Pink has released a new track from his forthcoming album 'Dedicated to Bobby Jameson' released 15 September via Mexican Summer.
Rejecting structure, Time To Live is a manic yet haunting pop number, cloaked by a fuzzy layer of sound.
His latest work is dedicated to a real Los Angeles musician who was presumed dead but returned to the public via youtube and a series of blog posts. Ariel Pink was intrigued by this and his tragic story, "His book and life resonated with me to such a degree that I felt a need to dedicate my latest record to him".
The album is set to interestingly begin at the end and end at the beginning. Ariel explains "We follow the protagonist through a battery of tests and milestones, the first of which sees him reborn into life out of death,” referencing the opening track he explains, “Time to Meet Your God.” “From there, he seesaws his way between the innocent love and the rock-solid edifice of childhood-worn trauma that together constitute his lifelong initiation into the realm of artifice and theatrical disposability.”
Ariel is to travel back to his earlier sounds and methods as he has recorded this record in his bedroom. He will also be touring North America playing songs from his new album alongside many from his albums before.
