How To Dress Well announces remix album
The album will consist of remixes from How To Dress Well's 2016 album 'Care' and it is released 28 July via Weird World. It has remixes from artists such as CFCF, Porches, James Ferraro, Kamixlo, Ben Babbitt, and Nick Godmode.
James Ferraro's rework of 'Anxious' has also been released and it shows the experimentation that is to come. Tom Krell quoted "I wanted to introduce the Care remixes with James Ferraro's take on “Anxious.” When I started planning my forthcoming installation “WE ARE ALL VERY ANXIOUS" in Los Angeles, it was really important to me to talk with James about the song, not only because his albums and Human Story Three inspired the track (as did Todd Haynes’ film Safe, and Alexandra Kleeman's novel You Too Can Have A Body Like Mine), but I knew he would understand the urgency and aesthetic berserkness that limns the pure bubbly pop of the song. I think James’ remix is really brilliant."
"Each of the other remixes, which you’ll be able to hear in due time, give a clue as to where my music is headed right now, as I work on my fifth record. It will be a much more metaphysical record, more ontological than ontic, and it’s oriented towards experimental electronic and dance music and much more connected to the ambient core of the How To Dress Well project."
Tom Krell has also announced WE ARE ALL VERY ANXIOUS, an event which will take fans on a journey of sound, video and text all inspired by the song 'anxious'. It will be held at NeueHouse in Hollywood on the 28 July when the remixes are released. Novelist Alexandra Kleeman and 3D artist Jason Ebeyer have collaborated with the project too. Expect a performance from How To Dress Well along with readings and discussions exploring pop culture, pleasure and consumption, technological addiction and how this all shapes our anxious lives.
