Fuck Buttons' Andrew Hung announces solo album, 'Realisationship'

Andrew Hung, one half of electronic duo Fuck Buttons, has announced the release of his debut solo album, Realisationship.

Realisationship marks a new period for Hung as he steps out from behind the keyboard and into the vocal booth. Written, recorded, and produced entirely on his own, the album documents a revelatory period during which Hung found belief and power within his voice. Say What You Want, the first track to be released from the LP, showcases his singing abilities for the first time.

Hung said of his vocals: "I had no idea I was going to be singing on this record; it just happened. It was inevitable with regards to what I'd been doing, but yeah, I had no idea. Gaining the confidence to sing was the hardest part. I can't completely identify with the voice on the record. Yes, it's me, but it's not me. Singing as an expression is very new to me... I see an oscillation between myself and the character of the album especially the voice. It's naked vulnerable duality."

Hung is best known as a member of Fuck Buttons, alongside bandmate Benjamin John Power. The duo has released three albums over the course of their career and has performed at both Glastonbury and the 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony. Hung has also collaborated with Beth Orton on her latest acclaimed release, Kidsticks, and scored the Jim Hosking film, The Greasy Strangler.

Realisationship is released on 6th October via Lex Records.
