Philip Selway announces new album Let Me Go OST
Phil Selway's new album is different from his previous two - it is his first soundtrack. The Radiohead drummer has provided music for the film 'Let Me Go,' a story of the relationship between mothers and daughters dealing with the effects of a World War Two war crime.
He is further exposing Radiohead's broad range of talent with his venture into crafting a score for a movie, something that he has always aspired to produce. Selway talked about his sudden connection to the movie: “The script had so much depth, and tackled very powerful subjects. Polly and Lizzy wanted their film to stay true to Helga’s past, and to allow me the creative freedom to realise the emotional complexity of her story.”
Strings and piano are his main instruments on this album, alongside his unique drumming skills. Combined with electronics and guitar, the final result is a tranquil yet tense collection.
The 'Let Me Go' original soundtrack is released on 27th October via Bella Union.
