Club 8 unveil new track, 'Breathe'
Swedish act Club 8 have unveiled their new single, ‘Breathe.’
The track, taken from the duo’s upcoming tenth album ‘Golden Island,’ is a hypnotic soundscape inspired by the music of the Middle East and Asia. Club 8 have worked with field recordings, vintage synthesisers, and instruments traditional to Middle East and Asian cultures.
The pair said of the single: “We’ve tried to take a step away from standard instrumentation and perhaps sound a little less typically western.”
Club 8 is the musical project of Karolina Komstedt and Johan Angergård. The friends started creating music together as teenagers in their hometown of Åhus, Sweden in 1995. Club 8 is known for experimenting with a multitude of sounds, from Bossa Nova inspired guitar-pop to electronic dance music and indie soul.
‘Golden Island’ will be released in early 2018 via Labrador Records.
