Sugarmen unveil new single, 'Push Button Age'

Sugarmen have unveiled their new single, ‘Push Button Age.’

Channelling Merseybeat and New York post punk ‘Push Button Age’ delivers psychedelic guitar riffs over thumping drums. Delve into the lyrics and a Gen X anthem is unearthed; ruminating on the retro-futurism of the 1950s and our current technology obsessed society that was once just a far off dream.

The single is the first song to be shared from Sugarmen’s upcoming debut album, ‘Local Freaks.’ Inspired by Lou Reed and other songwriters of the 70s, the album will pay tribute to the band’s native Liverpool and the characters that walk along its streets.

Sugarmen will play a handful of dates in September supporting The Jesus and Mary Chain before playing a headline show in London in October.

‘Local Freaks’ is released on 6th October via Modern Sky/Sire Records.

2nd September - Hangar 34, Liverpool

21st September - O2 Academy, Liverpool*
