Woods announce new album City Sun Eater in the River of Light

Woods have announced their new album City Sun Eater in the River of Light out 22 April.

Their ninth album is rooted in the hectic bustle and anxiety-soaked energy of one of the world’s most humming cities - New York.

The sonic palate is broad and colourful, flutes drift and float whilst horns and sax toot with measured buoyancy, all drifting atop of pedal steel, drums, bass, wurlitzer and guitar.

Woods singer and mainman Jeremy Earl said: “I would say the sonics and recording quality of the record are what jump out most to me. We are usually associated with lo-fi and this one is a huge step up in the fidelity department. It’s our second record out of nine recorded in a proper studio rather than at home.”
